Job Description – Team Leader
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join in Gravesend. The successful candidate will lead a production team, manage daily operations and ensure production targets, quality and food safety standards are consistently achieved.
The ideal candidate will have previous team leader or supervisory experience within a fast-paced production environment, with strong leadership, communication and organisational skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hands-on professional to support team performance and drive production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and supervise a production team within a fast-paced fresh-cut fruit manufacturing environment.
•Allocate duties and manage staff effectively to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
•Monitor production performance, labour costs and waste levels, taking action where required to improve efficiency.
•Ensure products meet customer specifications and the required quality and food safety standards.
•Lead by example on the production floor, maintaining high standards of hygiene, health & safety and housekeeping.
•Support, motivate and develop team members to improve performance, teamwork and engagement.
•Manage breaks, attendance and team cover to maintain smooth production throughout the shift.
•Complete production records, paperwork and relevant administrative duties accurately.
•Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and proactively to minimise downtime and production delays.
•Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and other departments to ensure production plans are delivered.
•Follow company procedures, food safety requirements and health & safety policies at all times.
•Work effectively in a demanding, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to quality, productivity and customer requirements.
Candidate Requirements
•Previous team leader or supervisor experience.
•Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
•Good communication and leadership skills.
•Ability to manage and motivate a team.
•Good understanding of health & safety and food hygiene.
•Reliable, organised and hardworking.
•Able to work to targets and deadlines.
•Flexible and able to work well under pressure.
